TREATMENT

Good foot care will maintain skin integrity, prevents nail and foot problems, promote comfort, improves health, and maintain or improve mobility. Failure to maintain foot health through proper nail and skin care can reduce mobility, that will lead to foot discomfort and skin disorders.

Treatment will require the use of sharp instruments but Foot Care Nurse will use extreme care while performing foot care. This Foot Care is “non-invasive”, which means that the nurse does not perform any treatment below the second layer of skin. There may be minimal risk of injury to the surrounding tissue while trimming and filing.
Service includes preventative measures and may include the following interventions:

Examine feet for structural or circulatory changes Cleans, cut and file nails safely
File down thickened deformed nails Prevent and reduce corns/callus
Management of fungal conditions Education & in-service sessions
Discuss referrals if required
